گر مِی نخوری طعنه مزن مستان را
بنیاد مکَن تو حیله و دستان را
تو غره بدان مشو که مِی مینخوری
صد لقمه خوری که مِی غلام است آن را
What this poem says
The poet cautions here against judging others: if you do not drink wine yourself, he says, you have no right to mock those who are drunk. He also warns against being vain and proud simply for abstaining from wine and the sin of drunkenness, since you swallow hundreds of forbidden, sin-laden morsels next to which wine is a small sin indeed.
